When using the windshield wiper arm removal tool, this is only to help remove the arm from the transmission or shaft. Simply slide fork end under the arm, turn knob until it contacts the upper portion of the arm (do not over tighten). While turning the knob the arm will straighten out allowing you to lift the arm off the transmission by pulling upward. This tool is not like a bearing puller or steering wheel puller, it will not lift the arm as you tighten the knob. Care must be taken to prevent damage to the wiper arm.
